Defining Resonant Frequency

“All things in the known universe have their resonant frequencies; a resonant frequency is a frequency of vibration that interacts with other frequencies of vibration,” explains David Elkington in The Ancient Language of Sacred Sound.

“There are billions of different wavelengths in the known universe, from billions or even trillions of cycles a second down to sub-Herzian wavelengths. Thus it is that every chemical element, every crystal and every living thing has a signatory vibration, its individual wavelength.”

The Earth resonates at an extremely low frequency that corresponds with the human brain’s alpha wave frequency of deep meditation. Sound experiments on megalithic structures like Newgrange in Ireland have produced this frequency with the addition of chanting or singing. Was this by accident or by design?

The formula of resonant frequency is fo=12π√LC. (fo = resonant frequency in Hz; L = Inductance.)
