Origins of Interstellar Visitor

Oumuamua, the first known interstellar object to pass by Earth, was unlike anything ever seen in our Solar System - an unusually elongated object, dry surface and a puzzling motion. Astronomers ZHANG Yun and Douglas N. C. Lin suggest Oumuamua is the remains of an object that passed close to a star whose intense radiation split it into extremely elongated fragments and then ejected them into interstellar space.
