Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah is observed on the first two days of Tishrei, which is the first month of the civil and seventh month of the religious year on the Jewish calendar.

Rosh Hashanah commonly celebrates the new year with a big family meal, sweets and services

Schofar

One of the most symbolic moments of Rosh Hashanah is the sounding of the shofar, a ram's horn, which is the centerpiece of the holiday during prayer services.

The Torah calls Rosh Hashanah β€˜the day when the horn is sounded.’

Tashlich

A ceremony called Tashlich is observed during the first day of Rosh Hashanah. During this ceremony believers symbolically cast away their sins by tossing pieces of bread into a flowing body of water.
