Rosé Day

Rosé Day is an annual celebration dedicated to appreciating rosé wine—a versatile, pink-hued wine style that bridges the gap between red and white wines.

Rosé is made from red grapes, but unlike red wine, the grape skins are left in contact with the juice for only a short period — typically just a few hours to a couple of days. This gives rosé its signature pink hue, which can range from pale blush to vibrant salmon depending on the grape variety and winemaking technique.

Rosé wines are celebrated for their crisp, fresh flavors and aromas. Typical notes include red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cherry), citrus, melon, floral hints, and sometimes a slightly herbaceous or green finish (like celery or rhubarb).

The grape variety and region play a significant role in shaping the wine’s taste. For example, Provence rosés are known for their dry, delicate profiles, while New World rosés are often fruitier and bolder.

Originated by Bodvár House of Rosés, Rosé Day is observed on the second Saturday in June in the USA, Sweden, and France.
