Strawberry Day

This food holiday, observed February 27 in the USA, celebrates a fruit that grows almost anywhere on Earth. Introduced to North America from Chile in the 1750s, the garden strawberry found in most markets is most abundant in late spring and early summer. A symbol of love and sexuality, it is linked to February because of Valentine’s Day.
