Clams On The Half Shell Day

This March 31 food holiday celebrates a unique dish featuring raw clams. Like oysters, clams are often served on half shell, meaning they are "shucked" (half of the shell removed) and served on a bed of crushed ice with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce. Some presentations prefer a bed of rock salt.
