One of the most time-honored and longest running festivals in all of North Carolina, this event includes a parade, clogging, magic shows, crafts, live musical entertainment, carnival rides, flea market, dancing, food, fishing competition, Shad Festival Queen Contest and more.
Established in 1971, this community event is held annually in Grifton, North Carolina, celebrating the migration of shad fish up the Neuse River and its tributaries, such as Contentnea Creek.
