While traditional Brunswick stew typically includes pork, chicken, lima beans, corn, potatoes, and a tomato-based broth, competitors are encouraged to bring their unique interpretations. As Ron Adams, one of the event's founders, notes, the key is to "respect each ingredient and make each ingredient the best it can be."
